On The Road Again, Hopefully In Our Own Truck Soon…
Hi friends and family! I am back in Uganda, and it hasn’t taken long to see God’s handiwork in blessing our WWJD ministry. While working with the local drilling team in Gulu, God connected me with Pastor Brown—who “just happened” to be ministering in the same area and staying at the same hotel as me. Even more amazing, he lives in Koboko, the very district where God has led us to begin drilling. Pastor Brown has graciously offered to help in any way possible, and since he is so well-connected in the community, he’s the perfect person to help me find a place to live and hire the right local worker. God is good!
Later this week, I’ll be heading to Kisoro to join our medical mission team from Rush Creek for maternal outreach and men’s ministry. While there, I’ll also meet with Kenneth, the director of Eden Mission, to coordinate how WWJD Water Well Ministry can best partner with Eden Mission to serve the people of Koboko.
In early September, I’ll travel back to Kampala to purchase a ministry vehicle. God has already connected me with a local contact who has sent me details on a couple of promising options. This vehicle will be a key investment for the ministry, so please be praying for God’s direction and provision in this purchase.
God has graciously provided everything necessary to bring us to this point, and I’m confident He will continue to do so through your faithful prayers and financial support. Below I have listed our current financial needs and donation links.
The GREAT NEWS is we have located the EXACT vehicle we are looking for (and were told would be very hard to find). Along with that, we have negotiated the price down to $43,000 (these are usually in the $50k-$60k range). PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS DIRECTION! We are currently $15,000 short of our goal to purchase this truck with cash. If you feel led, please head to our donation page and check out the ways you can contribute to this next step in our mission.
Top Needs This Trip There are 3 huge things we are praying for on this trip. Needless to say all of these needs come with a cost. My #2 spiritual gift is giving, so I struggle when it comes to asking for something, but I have been told by friends, family, and God that I need to make these financial needs known so people can pray and give effectively as the Spirit leads.
1. Purchase vehicle for pulling drill rig and hauling supplies. This is the biggest need and expense for sure. After much research and praying I feel pretty confident that purchasing a used truck already in country is the best way to go. The cost for one in good condition seems to be falling in the $50K-$60K range.
2. Locate and purchase/rent property in Koboko area to base out of. Estimates for the home base property needed are $400-$500 per month if renting or $5K-$10K if purchasing. Availability and location are huge factors here. Please be praying God leads us to the right location.
3. Find and hire local person to complete 3 man ministry team. Once we find and hire the 2nd person our staffing costs will be around $1600 per month. Our 1st person, Titus, is currently in training and he will be brought on full time after successful completion of training in September.
Faith, Hope, and Love,
